It is only three days to celebrate the World Book Day;
this day pays a worldwide tribute to books and authors, and encourages
everyone, especially the young, to discover the pleasure of reading.
On April 23, 1616 Cervantes and Shakespeare died. Also
famous writers were born or died the same date, so it was the April 23rd
the date chosen by UNESCO to commemorate the celebration worldwide since 1995.
However, the original idea of the celebration
of World Book Day was originated in Catalonia, by the writer Vicente Clavel
Andrés, who proposed to celebrate the World Book Day on the same day as the Feast
of Sant Jordi (St. George), who is patron of many other places in the world,
and it is tradition that lovers give a rose and a book each other.

solo tres días para que se celebre el día internacional del libro; este día se
busca rendir un homenaje mundial al libro y sus autores, y alentar a todos, en
particular a los más jóvenes, a descubrir el placer de la lectura.
El 23 de
abril de 1616 fallecían Cervantes y Shakespeare. También nacían y fallecían esa
misma fecha otros escritores de renombre, por lo que fue el 23 de abril la
fecha elegida por la UNESCO para conmemorar dicha celebración mundialmente
desde 1995.
Sin
embargo, la idea original de la celebración del Día del Libro partió de
Cataluña, del escritor Vicente Clavel Andrés, quien propuso celebrar el día del
libro el mismo día de la festividad de Sant Jordi (San Jorge), que es patrón de
mucho otros lugares en el mundo, y es tradición que los enamorados y personas
queridas se intercambien una rosa y un libro.
Nuestros
